Why? Mainly because it runs on both Macs and PCs. It has full right-click support, even on Macintosh. Digital Performer, while terrific in many regards, is still in the stone age in this regard. Most of the big sequencers now have essentially the same feature set; I believe that a knowledgable user can achieve great results on any sequencer. It’s just an issue of finding a sequencer that works best with your environment and how you learn and then learning the program thoroughly enough to achieve said results with efficiency. Cubase SX fits my enviroment and thought patterns (read: right-clicking) the best. I hope.
Cons: Dongle.
